Early Learning Coalition of Flagler & Volusia to host 2nd Annual Storybook Village
 Free Family Event Celebrating the Magic of Reading presented by Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
of Volusia County
 
Ormond Beach, FL –  Families are invited to join a celebration of the joy and magic of books at Storybook Village, hosted by Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Volusia County. This free, family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, November 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens located at 78 E. Granada Blvd. in Ormond Beach.
 
Storybook Village is designed to inspire a lifelong love of reading in children by celebrating the beloved works of children’s authors including renowned author Laura Numeroff, best known for If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, If You Give a Dog a Donut, and other If You Give books. Children attending the event will have the opportunity to receive free copies of her books.
 
The day will be filled with engaging activities for children of all ages, including:
  • Interactive story time featuring books from the Laura Numeroff collection
  • Multiple children’s activities
  • Photo booth
  • Scavenger hunt
  • Face painting
 
Additionally, an online silent auction will be held to benefit Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Volusia County. Auction items include a variety of exciting prizes, including a book signed by Dolly Parton herself.
 
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Volusia County mails free books to nearly 6,000 children, ages birth to five years, every month, helping to build early literacy skills and foster a love of reading.
 
“We are thrilled to bring Storybook Village to life and create a space where children can experience the joy of reading and imagination,” said DJ Lebo, CEO of The Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia. “This event is a wonderful opportunity for families to come together and celebrate the magic of books.”
